Ambition’s Regional Managing Director for the UK, Europe, and the US, Nicky Acuna Ocana, has been honoured as one of the Staffing Industry Analysts’ Global Power 150 Women in Staffing for 2024. This prestigious list recognises exceptional female leaders in staffing whose expertise, accomplishments, and dedication drive their success and that of their organisations.
With over 25 years in the recruitment industry, including 16 years at Ambition, Nicky is passionately committed to promoting Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) across the company’s global offices.
Over the past year, she has launched Ambition’s Global ED&I Committee, introducing initiatives such as a return-to-work programme with buddy support for new mothers and a comprehensive menopause policy. These efforts have contributed to Ambition’s high 79% talent retention rate and a 22% turnover rate in the UK, fostering a workplace where employees feel empowered to bring their authentic selves to work.
Beyond her role at Ambition, Nicky is dedicated to supporting the next generation. She volunteers at a local school, mentoring young girls, and serves on the board of the Haverstock Career Network. Nicky also hosts the podcast series “Leaders with Ambition,” which highlights the importance of diversity in career development within professional services. A sought-after speaker, she frequently discusses retention strategies and ED&I integration at client and industry conferences.
