January may have kept us busy, but February has arrived with an even stronger start—bringing a surge of new job opportunities. Legal BD & Marketing - Permanent

We’ve seen a noticeable rise in senior-level positions, with several Head of and Director-level roles having recently hit the market.

This trend is set to continue during February, as more high-level opportunities are expected to emerge across both Marketing/Communications & Business Development. We're especially keen to engage with senior-level candidates who are looking for their next senior leadership opportunity.

At the non-management end of the market, we're seeing a shift as clients are actively uplifting salaries to remain competitive and attract top talent. In fact, we’ve recently seen some Senior Executive level roles which are now competing with Manager-level salaries, reflecting the increasing demand for high-level expertise across legal business development and marketing.

Legal BD & Marketing - Interim and Contract

Traditionally January can be a quieter month for contracts as most processes close off prior to the year end and true to form this was the case this year too.

On a positive note, we've seen a a surge in new contract roles this month, particularly at the manager level across BD & Marketing.

Additionally, several clients have shown interest in fixed-term contract (FTC) options for critical hires, especially where permanent searches have taken longer than anticipated. This is an encouraging trend, offering candidates the opportunity to experience the role, team, and company culture before committing long-term.

Looking ahead, February and March are expected to bring a wave of new interim opportunities across various sectors. It’s an ideal time for candidates seeking a fresh start or a career shift through an FTC or FTC-to-perm role.

The first couple of weeks of 2025 were quiet, but that's not unusual. We often find that clients finalise their recruitment budgets in early January. However, job flow across BD and marketing has picked up significantly over the past few weeks.
