Director of Business Development

About the Role: We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Director of Business Development to lead our clients global BD strategy. This pivotal role involves developing and implementing a forward-thinking approach to drive our firm's growth and profitability. Reporting to the Chief Business Development and Marketing Officer, you will harness data and insights to lead best-in-class programmes across Practice Development, Client Development, and Pitches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Development: Craft and execute a dynamic BD strategy that aligns with the firm's growth ambitions, leveraging technology, data, and market insights.
  • Market Insight: Develop a deep understanding of our operating markets to inform strategy and drive profitable revenue growth.
  • Client Programme Leadership: Lead the global client programme to maximise opportunities for revenue growth, ensuring alignment with the firm's strategic plan.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Oversee the global client insights programme, utilising data and market intelligence to identify growth opportunities and address areas of underperformance.
  • Winning Work: Lead the pitch team to convert opportunities into revenue, embedding best practices and processes to support global bids and tenders.
  • Team Leadership: Foster a high-performance culture within the global BD team, setting priorities, managing performance, and guiding team development.

Required Experience:

  • Proven experience in driving change and innovation within professional services business development.
  • Strategic and commercial acumen with a track record of delivering impactful programmes.
  • Leadership experience with a focus on team development.
  • Strong advisory relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Expertise in planning, budgeting, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Legal sector experience is an advantage.
