About the Role:
I am seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to join the Finance & Projects Group of our law firm client. This role involves supporting the Finance & Projects Group with a strong focus on the Financial Services sector. You will report directly to the Senior Business Development Manager, working closely with the Group Exec leadership team and practice lead partners to develop and deliver the group's 2030 strategy. Your energy and enthusiasm for bringing new ideas to engage with clients will be fundamental to the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Collaboration: Work with the Group Exec leadership team to formulate and refine business development strategies, develop client targeting tactics, and support growth opportunities across the FS sector and related sectors such as health, energy, and transport.
- Bids and Presentations: Lead on bids and capability statements, support client presentations, tailor materials to individual clients, and track successes while soliciting feedback for continuous improvement.
- Team Management: Direct line management of a Senior BDE to support the F&P teams in their BD activities and manage F&P credentials across the content management platform.
- Campaign Management: Partner with the marketing team to orchestrate strategic growth campaigns, ensuring seamless integration with business development plans and tracking ROI.
- Budget Management: Own and manage the business development budget, working closely with the F&P Group Commercial Finance Manager to identify costs, track ROI, and adhere to predefined budgets.
- Key Messaging: Develop and maintain key messaging for the Finance & Projects Group across various marketing channels, including marketing materials, legal directories, and the website.
- Networking: Build a robust personal network within the Group and across relevant sectors, facilitating effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Synergy Development: Drive synergies across sector teams, maximising opportunities, and fostering growth across the firm.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Proven track record of driving successful business development initiatives within an international law firm or professional services organisation, with a specialised focus on the finance sector.
- Adaptability and flexibility to collaborate seamlessly across various functions, establishing credibility and fostering trust among partners and stakeholders.
- Exceptional project management skills, with a specific emphasis on managing bids and tenders from initiation to closure.
- Demonstrated leadership, including the ability to lead teams, delegate tasks effectively, and collaborate with specialist teams such as Communications and Marketing.
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to engage professionally with senior leadership, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Ideally, a solid understanding of the financial services sector and the finance legal environment, with a continuous learning mindset and curiosity to stay updated on industry trends.
